Hanging on!

I recently saw the trailer for "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," and remembered one of my favorite quotes. Dev Patel's character calmly lets everyone know, "In the end, everything will be okay. If it's not okay, it's not yet the end," so there is absolutely no need to worry. The quote is by Brazilian writer, Paolo Coelho known for his most well-known novels The Pilgrimage.and The Alchemist.
I don't know why, but I have a a profound fascination for this quote. It keeps me hopeful that the future may yet be bright and I thought I would share it with you. However bleak and hopeless life may seem at present, remember, there is only so far you can fall. When you reach the bottom, there is only one way to go...UP! So keep that little head on your shoulders, for no one knows what tomorrow may bring. You do not need to believe in a higher power to have faith and to have hope, look inside yourself. There is something divine in all of us, and I believe that is where God resides - in our hearts!

Hang in there, for if it's not okay, then it's not the end. For, "In the end, everything will be okay!"

I took this photograph while admiring the graffiti at Table Rock in Boise, ID. He's an inspiring little tree, hanging on to life :)

A Saturday Up in the Air

We had our first airshow in Durant, Oklahoma, after 14 year, this weekend. The Take to the Skies Airfest
It was actually a lot of fun. Though the event began around 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, I din't roll-out of my comfy bed until much later!
Hey! This was my first Saturday off all year...AND I had to wake up at 6 a.m. to go help a new employee open up the shop before plunging back to my bed. So, I am excused (mummy that explanation was for you!).
I didn't expect the whole of "Dooo-rant" to turn up, which is what it certainly looked line. This was the first time I have seen "traffic" over here. What we call "traffic" over here is just about 5-10 cars or trucks (we are in the south after all) backed up at a stop sign. Anywhoo, the cars were lined up all the way past the casino and it took us half an hour to make it to the car park! Most action the cops saw this week!
All in all the stunts and planes were amazing. One pilot in particular was phenomenal. He did quite spectacular stunts just a few hundred feet off the ground and over our heads...(he's the one in the plane with the black & white striped wing). Everyone's favorite, however, was the microjet - a wee little mini jet that was super fast, known as the "World's Smallest Jet," and was a star in a James Bond movie. You can check out all about the Lewis & Clark Performance Microjet on their website: http://www.flsmicrojet.com/

We mustn't forget the food! Most of the food trucks were from Grayson Co. in Texas as we don't have that many events in our area., but the food was you're usual standard, yummy and yet so bad for you! Though I did have some of the best Rootbeer floats curtesy of "Van Ray's Olde Tyme RootBeer."

Here are a few of the million-and-one pictures I took at the event!

Loving the fact that its Monday. WOW, I can't believe I just said that, there must be something in the water... Last monday in April. Was a lovely weekend. Had my first Saturday off since the New Year and it was Ah-May-Zing! Slept in and the watched an Airshow. I'll post some pictures from that later today. Then spent the whole of Sunday lazing about the house and washing our car, laundry and everything in-between...wow, I think I sound like a 40 year old housewife. Sigh! #happymonday  (small) #mountainmonday  #goodmorning

Spring's my favorite time of the year. I just love the colors and the wildflowers that spring up just about everywhere.
This is a few weeks old, but this is how I spent my Easter afternoon - stalking bees! #macromonday #springfever

Lost in fog

I know this is a really bad picture, but I love if for some reason. I love the way the fog makes it look fuzzy and adds a little vintage/old-timey look to it.

This is a photo I took of the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma sometime back in December 2012. The Casino changes color from day to day, but looks best in blue & red light.

Newbie

Yoo hoo!

Finally! Yes, I finally gave in and decided to bore the web with...ME! (tis me in the picture above...oh, and Toby Keith and some yummy tuna)

ummm...so let's see, my name's Sam, and no! I don't want to be called anything else, unless you're my mother, close friend, best friend or my 'special' other! Then go right ahead and call me by what ever nickname you've christened me with!

I decided to start a blog about anything and everything that tickles my fancy. If you share my opinions, agree with my statements, then great! If you disagree or differ completely from my opinion, that's great too! *grumble...gruumble* ;)
Whatever it may  be I would love to hear it, just as long as you respect mine.

That is all, for now!

...And don't forget to follow my instagram "samslens" or find me on Flickr "Samantha87".
